Former KKR legend Wasim Akram believes KKR has a good shot at winning because their bowlers are performing great this season. Having strong bowlers can be a big advantage in T20 games, especially important ones like this. If KKR’s bowlers stay in form and make it tough for SRH’s batsmen, they might win. But T20 matches are hard to predict, and SRH has its good points.
The former bowling coach of KKR praised their bowling lineup, highlighting that they have bowlers who consistently take wickets. He also commended Mitchell Starc, who was the most expensive player of the season, for his impactful performances, especially his match-winning spells against MI and LSG.
“This [bowling] is one of the main factors [behind KKR finishing on top of the points table]. There are wicket-taking bowlers. The teams that will take wickets will win the matches. Starc single-handedly won them a game as well. They are going in the final as a calm, confident, and very dangerous side for sure,” Akram told Sportskeeda.
Akram mentioned that the entire team is in good form, but he also noted that Phil Salt’s absence will have an impact on them.
“Almost everyone performed; they played Manish Pandey in one game and he also delivered. So, that shows that everybody is happy and confident. They have aggression, but they have controlled aggression. They are not cocky or overconfident. No doubt, Phil Salt’s absence will affect them,” he added.
Salt’s absence is significant considering he’s been the second-highest run-scorer for KKR this season, amassing 435 runs from 12 innings at an average of 39.54 and a strike rate of 182, including four fifties.
