IPL 2024: KKR’s Harshit Rana Repeats Mistake, Fined And Banned By BCCI

The fast bowler of Kolkata Knight Riders Harshit Rana faced a 100 percent match fee fine and received a one-match suspension from the BCCI due to a breach of the Code of Conduct in the IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals.

Rana has emerged as one of the standout performers of IPL 2024, claiming 11 wickets in the tournament and capturing everyone’s attention. However, he didn’t just make headlines for his bowling prowess.

In a previous match, Rana was seen gesturing a flying kiss to SRH opener Mayank Agarwal after dismissing him, which led to a heavy fine from the BCCI. Later, in another match against Delhi Capitals, he repeated the same action towards Abhishek Porel in the seventh over.

Porel had struck Rana for two fours and a six on three consecutive deliveries, but Rana managed to dismiss him in the end. While celebrating, Rana gestured for Porel to leave the field but chose not to blow a kiss this time.

The BCCI took action on the incident. Rana faced another fine and was suspended for a match for violating the IPL Code of Conduct. He became the first player in this edition to receive such a ban.

Shreyas Iyer’s team had a comfortable win on Monday, chasing down the 154-run target. Phil Salt scored 68 runs off 33 balls, hitting seven fours and five sixes.
