During the Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans clash in IPL 2024 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, a fan ran onto the pitch and hugged the former Indian Cricketer MS Dhoni. The fan said Dhoni offered to help with his surgery after noticing his breathing issues when he tried to hug him.
During the May 10 match, a video was circulating all over the internet and MS Dhoni was seen talking to the person who ran onto the pitch before security officials removed them from the field.
During the CSK vs. GT game, Dhoni was spotted jokingly dodging the pitch invader before the fan hugged him and talked to him. Security responded promptly, but the fan said Dhoni requested them to safely escort him off the field.
While talking to Focussed Indian,”When I saw him, I tried to surrender. I raised my hand in delight and chased him. Mahi bhai said ‘I am trying to have fun here.”
“I went mad. I touched his feet. He is a legend, I had tears in my eyes. He asked me why I was breathing heavily. I had jumped the fence, ran onto the pitch and I was breathing heavily. I told him about a problem with my nose. He said: ‘I will take care of your surgery. Don’t worry. I will not let anything happen to you’.” the fan added.
During IPL 2024, MS Dhoni was widely praised across India. After winning the IPL 2023 trophy, Dhoni postponed his retirement and promised the 2024 season would be a gift to the fans. Despite dealing with a muscle injury, Dhoni ensured he played in all the matches for the Super Kings. CSK received tremendous support at all eight venues they played in, with fans showing up in large numbers to cheer the forever captain cool.
