IPL 2024: Big Blow For Gujarat Titans, The Star Batter To Miss IPL For 2 Weeks

The disappointing news is coming for the fans of Gujarat Titans as the star destructive batter of South Africa, David Miller who plays for the franchise will miss the IPL for two weeks.

Miller will be sidelined for the next two weeks of the IPL 2024 season due to a minor injury. The South African middle-order batsman was absent from Gujarat’s match against Punjab at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 4, Thursday. Kane Williamson got a place in the playing XI in place of David Miller during the match, where he scored 26 runs from 22 deliveries.

Miller has been an important player for the team since he joined in 2022. In DC’s last game against SRH, he played very well, scoring 44 runs from 27 balls. He also made a quick 21 runs from 16 balls in the match against CSK.

During the mid-innings show, Williamson said, “Nice to be out there with the guys. A shame to lose David (Miller) for a week or two.”

Williamson also spoke on the match result and said that 199 was a competitive total against Punjab Kings also praised the superb batting of captain Shubman Gill who played a knock of 89 runs in 48 balls.

” It (199) is a reasonably competitive total. Hopefully, we’ll get the job done. There’s help with the new ball. It’ll be important for us to make full use of it. Shubman (Gill) is a fantastic player. He leads by example. He’ll keep getting better. Hopefully, there’ll be help for the spinners. It’s all about hitting the right areas,” Williamson added.
