Chennai Super Kings got a setback before the start of IPL 2023 as the star of the last edition for CSK Mukesh Choudhary will not be playing in the upcoming 2023 IPL season. The tournament is set to begin today(31st March) with the opening match between CSK and Gujarat Titans on Saturday. Just after Mukesh Chaudhary was ruled out, CSK announced the replacement in the name of Akash Singh, a left-arm pacer from Nagaland.

Who is Akash Singh?

Akash Singh was part of India’s Under-19 World Cup team in 2020 and now he has been signed by Chennai Super Kings for INR 20 Lakh. He has previously played for Rajasthan Royals and has appeared in 9 T20 matches, 9 List A matches, and 5 First-Class games, taking a total of 31 wickets.
