Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming has given a big update on Ben Stokes’ injury. Fleming said that this English player has once again suffered an injury, so he will be away from the game for a week. However, he also said that this injury is not serious and that Stokes is working hard to recover. Let me tell you, in the IPL 2023 auction, Chennai Super Kings included Ben Stokes in their team after spending a hefty amount of Rs 16.25 crore.
CSK has played 6 matches in Season-16, in which Stokes has participated in only 2 matches. Due to injury, he has been out of the team for four matches.
Giving an update on Ben Stokes’ injury after registering a 7-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, Fleming said, ‘Ben Stokes is injured again and will be out for a week. I don’t know much about it, but it is not a big injury. It is on the verge of recovery, and he is also working hard for it. It’s not his fault, and he needs a little luck.
Apart from this, the CSK coach also gave an update on Dhoni’s injury. Dhoni had injured his knee during practice before the start of the IPL. He was troubled by his injury several times during the tournament. However, Fleming says Dhoni is absolutely fine and will sit out when he feels he is unfit.
The coach said, ‘MS is absolutely fine. He is managing his injury well. He is available. He always puts the team first. Nothing to worry about.’ had he known that he could not contribute due to injury, he would have sat himself out.
Chennai Super Kings have to play the next match against Kolkata Knight Riders on 23rd April, i.e. tomorrow.
