David Warner led Gujarat Titans will play their next match Delhi Capitals (DC) against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Guwahati for their third league stage match on April 8. However, DC will have to play without one of their overseas players who will be returning home for a week for his wedding.
As per Cricbuzz’s report, Mitchell Marsh will be travelling to Australia to attend his wedding due to which he will miss the IPL for one week. The report also states that since the months of April and May are typically considered off-season for Australian cricket players most of them choose to get married during this time when they are free from their professional duties.
Mitchell Marsh was included in the playing XI of Delhi Capitals in both their matches. In the first match against Lucknow Super Giants, he got out without scoring any runs, dismissed on the very first ball he faced. In the second match, he managed to score only 4 runs off 4 balls before losing his wicket.
In the absence of Mitchell Marsh, DC might consider including Rovman Powell in their playing XI. In this case, the West Indies T20I captain is likely to bat in the lower middle order.
The opening combination of DC will remain unchanged with David Warner and Prithvi Shaw continuing to open the batting for the team. Axar Patel will once again play a crucial role with the bat as well with the bat.
