Former Australian opener and one of the legends of the game, Matthew Hayden feels that the star Indian batter Shubman Gill is going to rule in all three formats of cricket for the next decade. In the 18th match of IPL 2023, Shubman Gill scored 67 runs from 49 deliveries and helped the team to clinch a six-wicket win against Punjab Kings.
Although the target of 154 didn’t appear to be tough for Gujarat Titans they kept losing the wickets at crucial intervals. However, Hayden pointed out how Gill managed to maintain the rhythm from one end and took his team home.
While speaking on Star Sports, the former Australian opener said, “Gujarat Titans needed someone to take responsibility and bat deep in this run chase against a quality Punjab Kings bowling attack, and Shubman Gill did just that. Some of the shots that he played were pleasing to the eyes. He’s such a class player and he’s going to dominate world cricket for the next decade or so.”
While chasing the target of 154 runs, Gujarat Titans achieved it in 19.5 overs at the loss of four wickets. For GT, Shubman Gill scored 67 runs in 49 balls with the help of seven fours and one six. Wriddhiman Saha was the second-highest scorer for the team and he got 30 runs in just 19 balls.
