IPL 2023: Suryakumar Yadav, Nitish Rana, And Hrithik Shokeen Fined After The MI vs KKR Clash, Here Is The Reason

In the 22nd match of the Indian Premier League which was played between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders, the stand-in captain of Mumbai Suryakumar Yadav has been fined Rs. 12 lakhs for a slow over-rate in the IPL 2023 match against Kolkata Knight Riders played on Sunday(16 April).

According to a statement released by the IPL committee, the slow over-rate in the IPL 2023 match against Kolkata Knight Riders is the team’s first offense under the IPL Code of Conduct this season. Therefore, the captain Suryakumar Yadav has been fined Rs. 12 lakhs for not completing the overs on time.

Rohit Sharma was not part of the playing eleven in the match against KKR due to being unwell. Suryakumar Yadav captained the Mumbai team in his place in this match, while Rohit Sharma came as an impact player.

Apart from it, the captain of KKR, Nitish Rana who was involved in a verbal banter with Mumbai Indians’ Hrithik Shokeen has been fined 25% of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. Rana has been charged with the offense of ‘Level One’ under article 2.21 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct.

In addition, Mumbai Indians’ Hrithik Shokeen has been fined 10% of his match fee under Article 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct.

Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians defeated Kolkata by 5 wickets in this match. Kolkata Knight Riders scored 185 runs at a loss of 6 wickets. In response, Mumbai achieved the target in 17.4 overs at the loss of five wickets.
