In one of the most anticipated matches of IPL 2023, Chennai Super Kings beat Mumbai Indians by seven wickets. Thanks to the superb bowling and batting display by the players of CSK. However, even after this win, CSK has had a major setback. The two-star all-rounders of CSK Ben Stokes and Moeen Ali did not participate in the match against Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, The star bowler of the team Deepak Chahar had to exit the field early after getting injured while bowling.
Deepak Chahar bowled just one over in the match and is expected to miss a few upcoming games as he seems to have aggravated his left hamstring injury. Chahar also missed the last edition of the tournament due to a back injury and as a result, was not in contention for selection during the T20 World Cup 2022.
According to Suresh Raina, Chahar may be unable to play in around four to five matches during the current season due to his injury. Raina also mentioned that all the venues are far away from Chennai and hence it can increase the chances of injury to CSK players as they need to travel a lot.“It seems Deepak will be out for 4-5 games. It looks like he has again sustained a hamstring injury and looked in discomfort. All the other IPL venues are far off from Chennai and there will be a lot of travelling involved,” Raina said while doing commentary for Jio Cinema.
