IPL 2023: Star SRH All-rounder Ruled Out Of Tournament, Franchise To Announce The Replacement Soon

The Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise has got a major setback as the star all-rounder of the team Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League 2023 due to hamstring injury.

The official Twitter handle of SRH came on Twitter and gave the information about his exclusion from the tournament. They wrote,”Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to a hamstring injury. Speedy recovery, Washi.”

Sundar has played three matches in this season’s IPL and has scored a total of 60 runs at an average of 15. He has also taken three wickets so far. In the IPL 2022 auction, he was bought by SRH for a price of ₹8.25 crore.

The news of Sundar’s withdrawal is a significant setback for the Sunrisers team who are currently struggling at the bottom of the points table with only two victories in their last five matches. With just four points, the team will face Delhi Capitals in their upcoming match on Saturday, which is gradually gaining some momentum in the tournament.

Sundar has unfortunately suffered several injuries in the past. In his most recent injury, he hurt his left shoulder while fielding for Lancashire in a Royal London One-Day Cup match, causing him to miss the Zimbabwe tour. In addition, last February he experienced a similar hamstring injury that caused him to miss the T20I series against West Indies at home. Subsequently, he missed several games for SRH due to a hand injury.
