In the 18th match of the Indian Premier League, Punjab Kings, and Gujarat Titans faced each other in Mohali and Hardik Pandya led the team to beat the PBKS by six wickets. The match went to the last over and Rahul Tewatia slammed a boundary against Sam Curran to seal the match for Gujarat.
While chasing the target of 154 runs, Gujarat Titans achieved it in 19.5 overs at the loss of four wickets. For GT, Shubman Gill scored 67 runs in 49 balls with the help of seven fours and one six. Wriddhiman Saha was the second-highest scorer for the team and he got 30 runs in just 19 balls.
For Punjab Kings, Arshdeep Singh, Sam Curran, Kagiso Rabada, and Harpreet Brar got one wicket each.
Before it, Gujarat Titans won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Australian all-rounder Matthew Short scored the most 36 runs for the team. Jitesh Sharma scored 25 while Sam Curran and Shah Rukh Khan contributed with 22 runs each from the bat.
For Punjab Kings, Mohit Sharma got the maximum 2 wickets, while Rashid Khan, Alazarri Joseph, Joshua Little, and Mohammad Shami got one wicket each.
For getting 2 wickets in four overs after just spending 18 runs, Mohit Sharma got the Player of the Match award.
