Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans beat Chennai Super Kings in the first match of IPL 2023 by 5 wickets. It was Shubman Gill who shined with the bat and scored 63 runs in just 36 balls. With this inning, Gill has added some new names to the list of his fans, and this time the former New Zealand batter Scott Styris has praised and given a new name to Gill.
Shubman Gill’s performance in the match between the Gujarat Titans and MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad impressed Scott Styris and other commentators.
Scott Styris was delighted to see the performance of the young batsman and he gave him the nickname “Baby GOAT( Greatest of All Time). In his 63-run knock, Gujarat Titans scored six fours and three sixes.
“He’s no longer Shubman Gill, he’s Baby GOAT,” Styris said while doing commentary.
With the help of Shubman Gill’s impressive innings the Gujarat Titans successfully chased down the target of 179 runs with five balls remaining.
Gujarat Titans will play its 2nd match of the season against Delhi Capitals on 4th April. The match will be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
