On Sunday (2nd April), the fourth match of IPL 2023 was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The Sanju Samson team won the match by a margin of 72 runs. Both the batsmen and bowlers of Rajasthan Royals performed brilliantly and helped the team to start the campaign with a win.
In this match, SRH captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rajasthan Royals set a score of 203 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Rajasthan Royals, Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and captain Sanju Samson got solid fifties and gave a terrific start to the team. While chasing the huge target of 204 runs in 20 overs on this ground, SRH batters struggled throughout the match. Mayank Agarwal (27) scored the most runs for the team. The entire batting order of the team proved to be a flop on a batting-friendly pitch. Yuzvendra Chahal took four wickets for the team while Trent Boult got 2 wickets. Jason Holder and Ravichandran Ashwin grabbed 1-1 wickets each.
