IPL 2023, RR vs SRH: Jos Buttler, Samson, Jaiswal Fire; Rajasthan Beat SRH By 72 Runs

On Sunday (2nd April), the fourth match of IPL 2023 was played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The Sanju Samson team won the match by a margin of 72 runs. Both the batsmen and bowlers of Rajasthan Royals performed brilliantly and helped the team to start the campaign with a win.

In this match, SRH captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the toss and decided to bowl first.  Rajasthan Royals set a score of 203 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Rajasthan Royals, Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and captain Sanju Samson got solid fifties and gave a terrific start to the team. Additionally, Shimron Hetmyer played a knock of 22 runs off 16 deliveries.

For SRH, For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan got 2-2 wickets each while Umran Malik grabbed one.

While chasing the huge target of 204 runs in 20 overs on this ground, SRH batters struggled throughout the match. Mayank Agarwal (27) scored the most runs for the team. The entire batting order of the team proved to be a flop on a batting-friendly pitch. Yuzvendra Chahal took four wickets for the team while Trent Boult got 2 wickets. Jason Holder and Ravichandran Ashwin grabbed 1-1 wickets each.

Jos Buttler scored 54 runs off just 22 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes. For this superb innings, Buttler received the Man Of The Match Award.
