In the 20th match of IPL 2023, the Royal Challengers Bangalore secured their second victory by defeating the Delhi Capitals by 23 runs. In this match, the Delhi Capitals captain David Warner won the toss and decided to bowl first but the RCB batsmen proved them wrong by putting 174 runs on the scoreboard in 20 overs.
Delhi had a target of 175 runs to win, but their team could only manage to score 151 runs in the allotted 20 overs at the loss of 9 wickets.
Virat Kohli scored a brilliant half-century for RCB. He scored 50 runs in 34 balls with the help of six fours and one six. Apart from Kohli, Mahipal Lomror scored 26 runs and Glenn Maxwell also contributed with 24 runs.
From Delhi Capitals, Michell Marsh and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each. Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel also managed to get a 1-1 wicket.
While chasing the target of 175 runs, Delhi Capitals started losing wickets at fixed intervals and they seemed out of the game from the beginning. For the team, Manish Pandey scored the maximum 50 runs and Anrich Nortje got 23 runs. The team anyhow reached 151 runs at the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
For RCB, the debutant Vijaykumar Vyshak got three wickets, while Mohammed Siraj also managed to clinch two wickets in his account.
For playing the superb knock of 50 runs, Virat Kohli has been adjudged player of the match award.
