IPL 2023: Mumbai Indians Ropes In This Australian Pacer For Injured Jhye Richardson

The 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been compiled with several injuries for different teams. From Chennai Super Kings to KKR to the five time champion Mumbai Indians, all the teams have lost some of their best players due to injury.

Jhye Richardson who was with the Mumbai Indians has been replaced by another Australian Riley Meredith. Richardson had to miss this cash-rich league due to a hamstring injury and this was the reason, he was also out from the three-match ODI series against India.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders have also announced Jason Roy as a replacement for their injured player. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans have signed Dasun Shanaka in place of Kane Williamson who got injured while fielding during the match against Chennai Super Kings.

Talking about Mumbai Indians, they have already been fighting with a lot of injuries. Before Richardson, the star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah was also ruled out from the IPL due to back injury.

In the first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians lost the contest by 8 wickets. In the match at Chinnaswamy, none of the Mumbai Indians batsmen except Tilak Varma who scored 84 runs for Mumbai. The Rohit Sharma led team hung a total of 171 runs.

For Mumbai, the bowlers did not do well and they failed completely even after having someone like Jofra Archer. Archer went wicketless for 33 runs. The addition of Riley Meredith will add some strength in bowling.

Mumbai Indians will face Chennai Super Kings in their next match which will be on April 8.
