The former all-rounder of team India Irfan Pathan has said that he became emotional upon seeing MS Dhoni limping during the IPL 2023 match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals which took place in Chennai on May 10th at MA Chidambaram Stadium. In this match, Chennai gained a victory of 27 runs over the David Warner side and now got 15 points to be there at the second spot in the points table.
Chennai Super Kings were in a difficult situation at 126/6 after Ambati Rayudu was dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed. However, the crowd cheered as MS Dhoni entered the field. Despite hitting a furious 20 runs off just nine balls, Dhoni refrained from converting singles into doubles likely due to the knee injury.
MS Dhoni’s performance proved to be crucial in the match as his quick runs helped Chennai Super Kings secure a 27-run victory over Delhi Capitals. After the match, Irfan Pathan expressed his disappointment and said that it is so heart-wrenching seeing Dhoni running with a limp while batting. Pathan said that he has always seen Dhoni running like Cheetah and it is so sad to see him running like this.
Seeing Dhoni limping thru running between the wickets breaks my heart. Have seen him run like a cheetah,” Pathan tweeted.
While talking to the media last month, CSK coach Stephen Fleming said that Dhoni had been suffering from a knee injury and he is unable to run between the wicket fluently.
