Pakistan’s cricket team has been struggling, even with all the changes made in almost every area. The Pakistan Cricket Board has been quick to react to the team’s performance over the past couple of years, switching up captaincy, coaching, the selection committee, and even the administration. Still, the team hasn’t been getting the results they want. Inzamam-ul-Haq, a Pakistan cricket legend, has given the PCB a direct warning, saying that if they don’t figure out a solution soon, the nation’s cricket standing will drop even lower.
The Pakistan team’s done worse over the last two years. If we don’t head in the right way, we’ll keep falling, Inzamam said, according to Cricket Pakistan.
Inzamam also talked about the constant changes that have been going on in Pakistan since the 2023 ODI World Cup ended. The former captain doesn’t agree with switching things up so much in the team and management. He’s asked the board to sit down and think about how to fix the team’s problems.
Changing management, coaches, and players over and over isn’t going to fix things. We need to sit down and figure out where we’re messing up.
Instead of changing so much, we need to really consider where things are going wrong. If things keep changing, players won’t get the confidence they need, and nothing will get better, he said.
Inzamam also mentioned Babar Azam, who’s probably the most wanted batter on the team. Babar’s been getting a lot of heat lately as Pakistan struggles. Inzamam wants the board to have faith in its players again and work with them to find and fix their mistakes.
Babar Azam is a great player. Everyone has tough times, but the team hasn’t been playing well for a few months now, Inzamam added.
Believe in the management and the players, and work together to find where things are going wrong, he said.
