Interim Coach VVS Laxman Comes Back To India Before India-Pakistan Blockbuster Clash

Before the much anticipated India-Pakistan clash in Asia Cup, Rahul Dravid is all set to join the team after recovering from the Covid-19.

It is reported that Dravid reached Dubai late night on 27th August (Saturday) and he will be there with the team for this mega clash on 28th August (Sunday).

According to a report by Cricbuzz, it is being said that the team’s interim coach VVS Laxman was sent back to India on Saturday itself and he will miss India’s opening game against Pakistan.

A source close to team India in Dubai said that,”He is returning home tonight.”

He further added,”Mr Laxman, who travelled with the Indian team that played the ODI series in Zimbabwe will oversee the team’s preparation in the absence of Mr Rahul Dravid, who tested positive for COVID-19 before the team’s departure to the UAE. Mr Dravid will join the team once he tests negative and is cleared by the BCCI Medical Team.”

Laxman was present with the team as the team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid tested positive for the Covid-19 and he could travel to Dubai as he was prescribed a week’s rest.

Laxman was taken on board as it was expected that Dravid would not get fully fit till the India-Pakistan clash. Earlier it was stated that he would take at least a week to recover but he overcame it in a very quick session.

VVS laxman had been the team’s important member for a couple of months. Firstly, he was there with team India for Ireland series and then he served the team on the Zimbabwe tour as well.
