Inside Scoop: Deepak Chahar’s Net Session Before RCB vs CSK Match

Before the vital RCB match on Saturday, May 18, CSK had some positive news about their injuries: Deepak Chahar is back to bowling in the nets. Since May 5, Chahar has not been able to play due to an injury he sustained during the PBKS encounter at Chepauk. Towards the end of the season, CSK has been having trouble with bowling absenteeism.

In order to expedite his recuperation from an injury ahead of the T20 World Cup, Matheesha Pathirana has already left CSK. Prior to the T20 World Cup, Mustafizur Rahman had also departed for the Zimbabwe vs. Bangladesh series at Chepauk following the PBKS match. Since then, Richard Gleeson has been the foreign pacer for Chennai.

In a video that Chahar shared, the Indian pacer appeared to be bowling at full force while practicing in the nets.

Although Chahar might still be working on his fitness before the IPL 2024 Playoffs, it is unclear if he will be ready for the encounter on Saturday at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Before sustaining an injury, Chahar’s IPL 2024 wasn’t the best. With an economy rate of 8.59 and an average of 40.4, the bowler only claimed 5 wickets in 8 games. With 16 wickets from 12 games and an average of 23.43, Tushar Deshpande is now CSK’s top wicket-taker this season.
