Dynamic Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav would not be present for Duleep Trophy first round which starts on September 05 in Anantapur, Bangalore and Andhra Pradesh
Suryakumar has been suffering from an injury to his hand since last week and hasn’t recovered fully yet, as per PTI; so he will not take part in the inaugural game of this red ball tournament.
He also played for Mumbai recently at Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament held at Coimbatore against TNCA XI but could not play the last day due to pain in his hand because he did not come out to bat.
Latest news from the BCCI state Suryakumar who was initially supposed to play for and had been confirmed by them not being available for Duleep Trophy has shown up at national cricket academy in Bengaluru. In another match within this tournament, however, India A will meet India B at the M Chinnaswamy stadium located within the same city. This championship will also act as a platform for players across India seeking a spot in two Test series against Bangladesh set to begin with an event on September 19th taking place at Chennai.
These are the reasons behind his withdrawal on behalf of him from competition. Sources have confirmed that BCCI has stated that Suryakumar is not going to take part in this contest since he was initially chosen for it. Instead, they said that he should report at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. His unavailability for the Duleep Trophy contest has been confirmed by BCCI sources in their latest statements.
Simultaneously, there will be another match of the competition between India A and B at M Chinnaswamy Stadium located in Bengaluru. This tournament is also important for Indian players who are competing for selection in two-Test series against Bangladesh beginning from September 19 in Chennai.
