Former World Cup-winning skipper of England, Eoin Morgan, believes that team India is favorites to win the upcoming T-20 World Cup. In his interaction with Sky Sports, Eoin Morgan said that it's the depth and talent that Team India possesses in their squad that makes them stable as a unit. Morgan further added that India has the ability to beat any team in the competition.
Eoin Morgan, who was part of the team that played in the finals of the T20 World Cup in 2016, believes that even the players who have not featured in the World Cup for Team India are equally strong.
Eoin Morgan said, "Without a doubt, India is the strongest team, despite sustained casualties during the competition. Right now, their depth and strength are unbelievable. We're most likely discussing the players who, despite their exceptional qualities, were left out of their team of fifteen."
"I think they're my favorites. They are simply what they appear to be on paper, in my opinion. They can beat anyone quite well in the tournament if they can produce it," he continued.
India has not been able to perform well in the recent editions of the T20 World Cup. In the year 2021, they were knocked out of the group stage itself after Consicative lost to Pakistan and New Zealand. However, in 2022, India had a phenomenal tournament, but yet again, they failed as they were beaten by England in the semi-finals by a comprehensive margin of 10 wickets.
