Indian Star All-Rounder Declared Fit For The First Match Against Australia

After winning the T20I series against New Zealand at home by 2-1. Now Indian team is all set to play four test match series (Border-Gavaskar Trophy) starting on February 9. Before the series Indian team got good news, Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had cleared National Cricket Academy (NCA) test, and now he can play the first test match.


According to Cricbuzz, Ravindra Jadeja passed the fitness test on Wednesday. Jadeja is now fully fit and can be seen playing in the first Test match against Australia.

R. Jadeja last featured in August 2022 in the Asia Cup in Dubai. After this, he had to undergo surgery due to a knee injury. And he rested for 5 months to regain his fitness, and he could not play any match for India.
Recently Jadeja played a Ranji Trophy match for Saurashtra against Tamil Nadu. He bagged eight wickets in 41.1 overs; however, he also scored 40 runs for his team. His performance proved that he was fully prepared against Australia.


After getting the National Cricket Academy (NCA) clearance, Jadeja must play the upcoming test match against Australia. This series will also decide the way for the Indian team to World Test Championship.

However, middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the team from the first two Tests due to injury. Iyer was ruled out of the New Zealand series due to a back injury. He immediately reported to the NCA to be fit before the start of the Australia Tests. He will remain at the NCA in Bengaluru and work on rehab to be available for the second Test starting February 17 in Delhi.
