Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Yousuf has expressed his belief that India is the strong favorite to win the 2023 World Cup. He thinks that Rohit Sharma and company will maintain an unbeaten record in the current tournament being held on home soil.
On Sunday, November 11, India got a convincing victory over South Africa, winning by a margin of 243 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Rohit Sharma’s team has now taken the top position in the points table and they have won all the eight matches played so far.
“Before the match, it seemed that a close game between two top teams was on the cards. But after this match, only one team is on top in the tournament. India are favorites and that’s because they have top-class batters, and bowlers and their fielding is also top notch and they are playing as a unit,” Yousuf said on his YouTube channel.
The former Pakistan player also praised head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma for regulating the proper plan.

“India is performing brilliantly and the efforts and hard work are showing. One also should not forget Rahul Dravid’s contribution. Dravid helped the team gel together and make proper planning. Dravid and Rohit Sharma have a beautiful chemistry as they are able to take the entire team together.”
“I don’t think India will lose any match in the tournament. It needs bad luck for them to lose. They have all their boxes ticked. There is no weakness in their team,” he added.
