India Tour Of Australia: Day-Night Test Planned, Here Is The Full Schedule Of Border-Gavaskar Trophy

The schedule for Cricket Australia’s 2024-25 home summer has been revealed, highlighting the most anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India will kick off the 5-Test series against Australia in Perth on November 22 after a day-night Test at Adelaide Oval on December 6.

India faced a challenging task as they aimed for a third consecutive Test series victory in Australia, starting in Perth, their least favoured venue. The pink-ball Test, absent since India’s 2020-21 tour, makes a comeback in Adelaide, where the team rebounded from a dismal 36-all out to clinch a remarkable series win.

India will return to day-night Test cricket for the first time since March 2022, when they played against Sri Lanka in Bengaluru. Despite tours to England, New Zealand, and South Africa, as well as the recent 5-Test series against England led by Ben Stokes, the hosts did not engage in day-night Tests.

Fittingly, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been put on the same footing as the (men’s) Ashes with a five-Test Series for the first time since 1991-92 and we’re confident the schedule will maximise viewership and attendances and there will be a tremendous atmosphere in stadiums across the country,” Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley asserted in a statement.

India’s tour of Australia 2024-25 Schedule

First Test at Perth Stadium in Perth – November 22 to 26

Second Test at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide – December 6 to 10 (Day-Night)

Third Test at The Gabba in Brisbane – December 14 to 18

Fourth Test at the MCG in Melbourne – December 26 to December 30

Fifth Test at the SCG in Sydney – January 3 to January 7, 2025.
