“India needs to…”Brian Lara gives a massive statement regarding Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for the upcoming matches

Former West Indies legend Brian Lara wants Team India to stick with the opening combination of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in spite of their failure at the top. Both Rohit and Virat have failed in the previous two matches with the bat.
However, Rohit Sharma started his tournament with a sublime 50 against Ireland but failed to keep going in the next two games, getting dismissed on scores of 13 and 3. However, Lara feels that if Team India tries to change their opening combination, it could hamper their playing combination.

In his interaction with Star Sports, Brian Lara said, Definitely, India had the option to play a left-right opening partnership. They went with two great players, two guys who’ve done a great job for India with the bat for their individual franchise as well in terms of the captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. I think they’ve got to stick with it, as you just said if you do make changes on top, Virat Kohli has to come in a little bit lower, and that’s going to upset things there.”
Lara further backed the duo of Rohit and Kohli to go big in the upcoming matches.

Speaking about the same, Brian Lara said,I believe that the combination India is having and India has to back the two of them. At some point in time, they’re going to come up with good conditions; the batting conditions in the USA were not the very best. I don’t believe you should start making changes, especially if you’re winning.”

Team India has already progressed in the Super 8 stage and will play their final game against Canada on June 16 in Florida.
