BCCI has announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming Zimbabwe Tour where India will play three-Match ODI series against the hosts.
The streak of giving rest to the senior players is in flow with this tour as well. Once again Shikhar Dhawan has been named as the captain for the ODI series. At the same time, the Indian swing bowler Deepak Chahar has marked his comeback to the side nearly after 6 months. The tallest guy Washington Sundar is also joining the team after some months.
Senior players like Virat Kohli, Captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Ashwin, and Pant have been rested for the tour. Everyone was speculating that Kohli might be there for the ODI series as it will be the best way to regain his lost form. However, it did not happen.
Dhawan did an exceptional job as captain in the three-match ODI series against the West Indies. In that series, India clinched the series 3-0 and the youngsters did an amazing job under the leadership of Gabbar.
For the 1st ODI, India will take on Zimbabwe on 18th August at Harare Sports Club.
