India started their T20 World Cup campaign with a win where they thrashed Pakistan by 4 wickets. The match was all about the Virat Kohli’s superhuman effort where he stood alone and scored 82* to take India home.
Apart from Virat Kohli, it was all-rounder Hardik Pandya who contributed a bit in the batting and played a crucial knock of 41 runs in just 37 balls. Before scoring with the bat, Hardik Pandya also did some wonders with the ball and bagged three wickets in his kitty.
With these wickets and runs, Hardik Pandya has now reached a remarkable milestone in T20I. In the match against Pakistan, Hardik Pandya became the first Indian player to score 1000 runs and get 50 wickets in T20I. In his 74 T20I appearances, the all-rounder has now 1029 runs and 57 wickets for India.
Overall, Hardik Pandya is the seventh such player in the world to get a 1000-run and 50-wicket milestone. Bedore Hardik, Shakib Al Hasan, Shahid Afridi, Mohammed Nabi, Dwayne Bravo, Mohammed Hafeez, Kevin O’Brien And Thishara Perera have achieved this landmark.
