In a pre-match press conference, Indian captain Rohit Sharma announced that the young opener Shubman Gill is highly likely to be available with a 99 percent chance of participating in the much-anticipated World Cup 2023 match against Pakistan on October 14.
Shubman Gill is on the verge of potentially making his debut in the ODI World Cup for India after recovering from dengue. Gill had been sidelined due to a diagnosis of dengue fever, causing him to miss India’s initial two World Cup matches. In the absence of Shubman Gill, Ishan Kishan opened the innings for India with Rohit Sharma where men in blue emerged victorious against Australia and Afghanistan.
Rohit Sharma took the lead in the pre-match press conference before the Pakistan match scheduled for Friday, and the Indian captain expressed optimism regarding Shubman Gill’s fitness.
“99 Percent He (Gill) Is Available,We’ll See Tomorrow (Saturday) About That” Rohit said.
In the last match against Afghanistan, India beat the opponent by eight wickets, thanks to the superb century by skipper Rohit Sharma. Pakistan is also coming with a win against Sri Lanka.
Team India has a strong batting lineup. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli got superb half-centuries against Australia. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma came with a blast against Afghanistan. Jasprit Bumrah was also lethal in his last match against Afghanistan.
