IND vs ENG: India Creates History, Secured The Biggest Win In Terms Of Runs In Test Cricket

In the third game of the five-match Test series played at Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot, India secured the victory by a huge margin of 434 runs and took a lead of 2-1 in the series against the hosts England.

This is the highest Test win for India in history in terms of runs. After winning the toss on the first day, India chose to bat and scored 445 runs with centuries from captain Rohit Sharma (131) and Ravindra Jadeja (112). In response, England could only muster 319 runs, with Ben Duckett’s century (153) being the only noteworthy performance.

The home team gained full control of the match after Yashasvi Jaiswal scored his second double century in consecutive games and he played an important role in setting up a target of 557 runs for India.

Jaiswal matched Wasim Akram’s record for the highest number of sixes in an innings, hitting a total of 12. He concluded his innings undefeated at 214. Apart from Jaiswal, Shubman Gill scored 91 and Sarfaraz Khan got 68 runs.

Before this, India’s biggest win in terms of runs came against New Zealand back in 2021 where they beat Kiwis by 372 runs at Wankhede Stadium.
