Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has said that the Australian cricket team is not very serious about this T20 series against India. Aakash said that it is very clear with their approach that they do not care about healthy competition. India has already won the series by beating Australia by 20 runs.
The Indian cricket team secured a 20-run victory in the fourth T20I held in Raipur on Friday, thereby sealing the series 3-1. The final match is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on Sunday. India set a target of 175 runs for Australia, and the hosts successfully defended it by limiting the visitors to 154-7.
While having a conversation on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said.”I am unable to understand the Australian team. They played Ben Dwarshuis here but didn’t play Nathan Ellis. They didn’t play Jason Behrendorff in between in one match. They sometimes get Matthew Short to bowl in the powerplay, or they don’t get him to bowl at all.”
The former opener said, “Travis Head bowls otherwise but doesn’t bowl here. I don’t think they are very serious about this series. They feel that they just need to fill in the blanks, complete the job, and go.”
Australia has changed several players throughout this T20 series against India. David Warner opted out before the first game, and in addition to him, all other members of their World Cup-winning squad, with the exception of Travis Head, were replaced after participating in a few games.
