IND vs AUS, 3rd Test: ‘ I Thought He Is Very Good Against Spin But He Is A Panicker’, Greg Chappel Said Slams This Indian Star

The first innings of the Indian Cricket Team in the Indore Test was an epic disappointment where Rohit Sharma & Company was packed at 109 runs. This was a huge surprise as the Indian Captain had won the toss and India which is known to play spin at the best has given all the wickets to the spinners.

For India, Virat Kohli was the highest run scorer and made 22 runs, the second-best being Shubman Gill with 21 runs. The Indian batting collapsed drastically with Cheteshwar Pujara (1), Ravindra Jadeja (4), Shreyas Iyer (0), and KS Bharat (17) all sent to the pavilion in no time.

At the end of the game, former Australian cricketer Greg Chappell criticized the Indian batter and even went harsh on Indian middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer.

The former Australian was not happy with Iyer’s approach and was not convinced with his techniques against the Spin.  Iyer is known to play spin very well and this is where he crunched Chappell.

While talking to ESPNcricinfo, Chappell said, “Cheteshwar Pujara is very jumpy. I think right through the series he has been very jumpy. I keep hearing that Shreyas Iyer is a very good player of spin bowling, but I haven’t seen it yet, and I’m not convinced that he is. To me, he is a bit of a panicker.”

He further added, “There are some players in the Indian side that haven’t convinced me that they’re good players of spin bowling. I thought that the Australians spooked India early on. A couple of things happened with the pitch. The Australian spinners bowled very accurately. But what we saw was Australian-type batting from the Indians.”
