Imran Khan Snubbed In A PCB Video On The Eve Of Pakistan’s Independence Day, Wasim Akram Slams PCB

A huge controversy has erupted within Pakistan’s cricket fanbase due to recent events involving the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The issue is generated from a video shared by the PCB on August 14, 2023, as part of Independence Day celebrations. This video was intended to honor Pakistan’s rich cricketing heritage, but they did not mention the former Pakistan captain Imran Khan. Imran Khan captained Pakistan and the team won the World Cup in 1992 under his leadership.

Former Pakistani speedster and one of the legends of the game, Wasim Akram has come to social media and showed his disappointment regarding the omission of Imran Khan. Akram also called upon the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to remove the video and issue an apology for the matter.

“… I got the shock of my life when I watched PCB’s short clip on the history of Pakistan cricket minus the great Imran Khanâ€æ political differences apart but Imran Khan is an icon of world cricket and developed Pakistan into a strong unit in his time and gave us a pathwayâ€æ PCB should delete the video and apologies,” Wasim said in tweet on Thursday, August 16.

The veteran of Pakistan cricket history – Imran Khan has an impressive record of 88 Test matches and 175 ODIs, holds a special place not only as a highly respected figure in Pakistan’s cricket but also for his tenure as the Prime Minister of the nation from August 2018 to April 2022. His absence from the video has ignited a profound sense of discontent among both passionate fans and former cricketers.
