‘I’m Happy, This Is Just A Start’, Yashasvi Jaiswal Solid Words After His First International Century

Left-handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has had a terrific start to his Test career against West Indies at Windsor Park. Yashasvi Jaiswal achieved the prestigious feat of scoring a century in his Test debut. After ending Day 1 with an unbeaten score of 40 runs, Jaiswal played brilliantly on Day 2 and smashed his first-ever century in international cricket. His remarkable composure and determination throughout the day left the West Indies bowlers surprised.

After his remarkable innings, Jaiswal expressed his desire to dedicate his outstanding performance to his parents. He also emphasised that it is just a start for him as he has even greater ambitions in mind. Due to his exceptional knock, India currently holds a lead of 162 runs against West Indies. Jaiswal is determined to continue his impressive form and is now eyeing on scoring his first double century. Jaiswal is currently batting 143 runs.

In a clip shared by BCCI, Jaiswal said,”It is very emotional for me and my family. For everyone who has supported me in any way. It has been a long journey. I want to say thank you to everyone who have helped me. I want to dedicate this to my mother and father, they’ve contributed a lot. Thanks to god. I won’t say much now… I’m happy, this is just a start, I’ve a lot to do.”

Before making his Test debut for India, Jaiswal played some brilliant and consistent innings for his domestic team Mumbai. He also got the orange cap in IPL 2023 playing for Rajasthan Royals which earned him the maiden call up for senior team.
