“If Rishabh Pant cannot…”Wasim Jaffer drops a massive praise for the Indian wicketkeeper

Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer of India became enthralled as Rishabh Pant used a reverse scoop to end India’s pursuit against Ireland. When Rishabh lined up an outrageous drive over the wicketkeeper’s head in the thirteenth over of the game against Barry McCarthy, it became his signature stroke. Jaffer immediately went to X to compliment Pant on his shot.

In a tweet, Jaffer stated that nobody could pull the US into cricket if Pant is unable to do so. With his 36* off just 26 balls, Pant once again looked a cut above the other Indian batsmen. In the first game of their T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, the left-hander successfully led India to victory, maintaining his form from the warm-up match.

In a challenging pitch at Nassau County Stadium in New York, Pant hit three boundaries and two sixes. Pant was assured even with his erratic bounce and velocity. In the final few balls of his innings, the batter took a ball to his forearm, although it didn’t appear to have done much damage. After checking Pant’s hand, the Indian physiotherapist left and came back right away.

In the T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up match on Saturday, June 1, India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant took a savage swing at Shakib Al Hasan. Pant made his arrival in his comeback in India colors known by participating in the sole warm-up match at Nassau County International Stadium in New York. In the last over of the powerplay against the seasoned Shakib Al Hasan, the left-hander smacked three sixes. Pant carried on with his attack throughout his half-century, reaching his target in just 32 balls. After that, Pant had made the decision to retire hurt so that the other batters in the lineup could adjust to the New York weather.

Pant made things appear quite simple as the other Indian batters found it difficult to adjust to the stadium’s two-paced drop-in pitch. Rishabh unleashed his signature reverse lap and slog sweep after hitting Shakib for six with a sweep shot. Rishabh Pant was seen batting in the Indian colors for the first time since December 2022.

The batter had to endure a rigorous recuperation process following his nearly fatal car accident in December 2022, which forced him to miss time from play. The New York audience, spellbound by Pant’s ability to clear the field at command, cheered him on as he made his shots.
