Indian all-rounder Rishabh Pant is recovering from a car accident on 30th December 2022. Doctors suggested him rest for nearly a year, which is why he will miss the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League and ODI World Cup 2023. But the head coach of his IPL franchise Delhi Capitals Ricky Ponting, made a strange request and is keen on having Pant around with DC even though he isn’t physically fit properly.
“If he is not physically fit enough to play, we’d still love to have him around. He’s the sort of cultural leader around the group, being the captain, and that attitude and infectious smile and laughs are what we all love so much about him. If he can travel and be around the team, then I want him to sit beside me in the dugout every day of the week. I’ll certainly be making sure, come the middle of March when we get together in Delhi and start our camps and stuff, if he’s able to be there, then I want him around the whole time,” said Ricky Ponting.
As per the report, Rishabh Pant will be discharged soon from the hospital. And will take upto 2-4 months to get proper strength and fitness. One of the biggest supporters of the Pant recently talked to the Pant and revealed his conversation with him and predicted that he get back to action soon.
“I love the bloke, and I told him that on the phone the last couple of days. It was a horrifying time, a really scary time for everybody, let alone him. Anyone who knows him loves him – he’s a really infectious young guy with the world still at his feet. So we will keep our fingers crossed and hope that he can get back to playing sooner rather than later,” Ponting added.
