Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer mentioned on Sunday that if the Indian fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj can remain healthy for most of the series, then the team has a good chance to win three Test series in a row against Australia. The highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy will start with the first Test match, a day game that will set the mood for the series, at Perth Stadium from November 22 to November 26. India has won the last two series in Australia, which took place in 2018-19 and 2020-21.
In response to a fan’s question about India’s chances for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy this year, Jaffer emphasized the significance of having the fast bowlers Bumrah, Shami, and Siraj available for the team.
Additionally, he mentioned that Arshdeep Singh could provide a left-arm fast-bowling option, and Mayank Yadav, a fast-bowling sensation from the Indian Premier League (IPL) who impressed with his bowling despite some injuries, might be a surprise candidate for the series if he is healthy enough to participate.
“If Bumrah, Shami, and Siraj remain fit and can play most of the series, India has a fantastic chance to win three series in a row in Australia. Arshdeep could offer the left-arm bowling option. And Mayank Yadav could be a surprise pick if he is fit and available. #AUSvIND,” Jaffer stated.
The second Test, scheduled to be held at Adelaide Oval from December 6 to 10, will feature an exciting day-night format under the stadium’s lights. Following that, fans will turn their attention to The Gabba in Brisbane, where the third Test will take place during the day from December 14 to 18.
The traditional Boxing Day Test, scheduled for December 26-30 at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, will bring the series to its peak.
The Fifth Test, happening at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Sydney from January 3 to 7, will be the high point of the series and is expected to be an exciting finish to a thrilling match.
