ICC Men’s Team ODI Ranking: India Gets 2nd Spot, England Replaces NZ From 1st, Know How India Can Become No.1

New Zealand was beaten by India in the second ODI on Saturday, three days after losing a thrilling first ODI at Hyderabad on January 21. With this win, now India has already taken an unbeatable lead in this three-match ODI series.

The Black Caps have lost their top position in the ODI Team Rankings as a result of the series loss, and England has replaced them.

Prior to the Raipur ODI, New Zealand held the top spot with 115 rating points, followed by England in second place with 113 rating points, Australians in third place with 112 ratings, and India in fourth place with 111 rating points.

After the eight-wicket defeat, New Zealand is now ranked second overall with 3166 total points and 113 rating points. With 113 rating points each, England and India are placed first and third, respectively.

In the first few overs, the Indian fast bowlers completely destroyed the Kiwis, reducing them to 15/5 in just 11 overs. But thanks to runs from Glenn Phillips (36), Michael Bracewell (22) and Mitchell Santner(27), the visitors put on a decent score of 108.

With roughly 30 overs left, India concluded the series by easily finishing the chase with Rohit Sharma’s innings of 51 from 50 balls.

India can overtake England as the top ODI team if they repeat their performance from the first two games in the final ODI on Tuesday,January 24 at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore and win the series 3-0.
