ICC Announced Men’s ODI Team Of The Year; Only Two Indians In The List

International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed 11 outstanding players who have performed amazingly well in the ODIs in 2022. These 11 individuals have performed exceptionally well throughout the year. Let’s look at the list of the players who showed a dominating performance in 50 over format.

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam has been announced as the skipper of this team. Babar scored 679 runs with a stunning average of 84.87, including three hundred and five fifties. And his team has won eight out of nine ODI matches under his captaincy this year.

Australian young blistering batter Travis Head is selected as the second opener batter of this team. He notched 550 runs in the nine ODI games with an outstanding average of 68.75. He has two centuries and three fifties to his name.

West-Indian all-rounder Shai Hope got a place in this team on the third position. His consistency for his team in the 50-over format was outstanding. He made 709 runs, three tons, and two fifties at an average of 35.45 for his team.

Shreyas Iyer, the most consistent Indian batter in the ODI format, named in this team on number four batting position. He is the only Indian batter who got a place on this team. He has played 17 ODI matches this year, scoring 724 runs at a splendid average of 55.69. One hundred and six fifties are also added to his name this year.

New Zealand’s wicket-keeper batter Tom Latham is selected in this team as the finisher and batter at no.5. Playing in the middle-order for his team, Latham scored 558 runs in the 15 ODI matches at an average of 55.80. He added two centuries and two fifties to his name, and a sizzling strike rate of 101.27 made him a better batter at no. 5. in ODIs.

Sikandar Raza, a Zimbabwean all-rounder, has performed amazingly with bat and ball this year. He has registered 645 runs at an average of 49.61, including two fifties and three centuries. He also bagged 8 wickets this year.

Mehidy Hasan Mirza is the most consistent all-rounder this year. Mirza picked 24 wickets and scored 330 runs in the 15 ODIs games. He also made a century and one fifty this year and has a stunning batting average of 66.00.

Alzarri Joseph, a West-Indian pacer, who have played 17 ODI matches this year and has scalped 27 wickets at an average of 25.70. His economy rate was 4.61, and the best figure was 3/36.

Indian pacer Md. Siraj is the only pacer with a place in this playing XI. Siraj has played 15 ODIs matches this year in which he grabbed 24 wickets. His best bowling figure was 3/29, and he picked the wicket at an average of 23.50.

New Zealand’s left-arm pacer Trent Boult was the most powerful bowler in 2022. He has played only 6 ODIs matches this year, in which he bagged 18 wickets at an average of 12.38. His best bowling figure was 4/38, and his economy was also miserly at 3.98.

Australian spinner Adam Zampa is the only spinner on this team. He is the highest wicket-taker for his country this year in the ODIs format. He has bagged 30 wickets this year.
