“I was given poison “Mercury”…..Pakistani Former Cricketer Revealed Shocking Story About Dressing Room

Pakistan cricket board and the Pakistani cricketer’s life are full of surprises. And their revelation after retirement is really entertaining for cricket fans, and sometimes it’s shocking. Currently, a revelation was made by former Pakistani opener batter Imran Nazir on a podcast with Nadir Ali. In which he stated that he was poisoned.

“When I recently got treated, including MRI, a statement was issued that I was given the poison “Mercury.” It is a slow poison; it reaches your joint and damages them. For 8-10 years, all my joints were treated. But even then, I prayed to God, ‘Please don’t make me bedridden.’ And thankfully, that never happened,” Nazir said on the Nadir Ali podcast.

“I used to walk around and all when people used to ask, ‘You’re looking fine.’ I doubted many people, but when and what did I eat, I could not figure it out because the poison didn’t react instantly. It kills you for years. I still never wished badly for whoever did this. The person saving is better than the one who wants to kill.” He further told.

Nazir was an explosive batter and a big challenge for the Indian team in the 2007 T20 World Cup. He revealed that his illness was serious and cost 12-15 crores PKR. And that illness exhausted his life as well as his cricketing career. He also revealed that former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi helped him a lot during his life’s tough period and stood like a rock.

“I have spent my entire life’s savings on my treatment. In the end, there was a final treatment in which Shahid Afridi greatly helped me. He helped me in my time of need. Within a day, my doctor received the money in his account. He said, ‘No matter how much money is needed, my brother should get well.’ He spent around 40-50 lakh. I was happy he had told his manager, ‘Don’t even ask about him. Keep sending how much money he needs. The credit even goes to my doctor, who never tried to cheat me. He stuck to the required amount,” the former Pakistani opener added at last and thanked Afridi.

The last time Imran played in the T10 league with Kerala Knights was in 2018. Nazir had played 8 test matches and 79 ODI matches for the Pakistani cricket team. He made his debut in 1999 and played till 2012, but after that, he tried to make a comeback but wasn’t successful and retired from international cricket.
