“I think we were “.. Rohit Paudel wants more chances against the big teams

Nepal’s captain, Rohit Paudel, mentioned that his team is eager for more experience after nearly achieving an unexpected victory over South Africa on June 15, Saturday. The Asian team had a chance to reach the Super 8s if they won against the Proteas. Paudel’s team did an excellent job in bowling, limiting South Africa to only 115 runs in 20 overs.

The Nepal team was doing well in the game until Tabraiz Shamsi changed everything. Aasif Shaikh’s 42 points kept Nepal in the game, and it went down to the final moments. Sadly, they lost by only 1 point. After the game, Paudel, the team leader, said he was happy with how his team played, both batting and bowling.

Paudel also mentioned that he knew the field would be slow and good for the spin bowlers.

“I feel really proud of our team, especially how well we bowled and batted. When we looked at the pitch yesterday, we expected it to be slow. While we were bowling, I noticed the pitch was helping the spin bowlers, so we kept using them,” Paudel explained.

Paudel mentioned that they almost won, but fell just short in the end. The captain of Nepal believes that playing more matches against strong teams will help them improve and win in similar situations next time. Paudel also expressed gratitude to the enthusiastic Nepal supporters for their encouragement.

“We were really close to winning, but not quite there. We did well in the tough moments, and I believe we fought hard. If we play more games like this, we’ll be the ones winning next time.”

“I want to thank the fans for their amazing support. They travel far, through rain and all, just to cheer us on,” Paudel added.

Nepal’s next game will be against Bangladesh, which is the last match of theirs in this tournament.
