“I have learned….” Shubhman Gill Picked This Superstar In Between Virat And Sachin

Indian team, rising star batter Shubhman Gill, is in his prime form, and looking at his current batting stats, he will play a key role for the Indian team in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. Shubhman hit his fourth ton on Tuesday against New Zealand in the last ODI encounter. He made 112 off 78 balls with the help of 13 fours and 5 sixes. With this ton, Shubhamn levels Babar Azam’s record of most runs (360) in the three ODI match bilateral series.

In the video interview on the star sports, Shubhman was asked to choose former Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar and current swashbuckler batter Virat Kohli. After which, Shubhman chose Virat Kohli over Sachin and explained that his father was a huge fan of Sachin, and when he retired, he was too young to understand cricket and learned much from Virat.

“I think Virat Bhai because…Sachin sir is the reason why I started playing cricket because my dad was his huge fan. When he retired, I was too young to understand cricket. By the time I started to understand cricket a little more, I would say Virat bhai because I have learned much from him as a batter.” Shubhman had replied.

Shubhman Gill featured in 21 ODIs matches and has scored 1254 runs at an average of 73.76. He made 4 centuries, of which 3 came in this year, and he also has 5 fifties to his name. Shubhman is the first Indian batter to score 1000 ODIs runs in 18 ODI innings; however, he is the second fastest batter in the world after Fakhar Zaman.
