‘I Find His Action Unique’, Neeraj Chopra Suggests How Jasprit Bumrah Could Generate Extra Pace

Jasprit Bumrah has been one of the most influential bowlers across all three formats for Team India. The bowler is not only known for opening the bowling in powerplays but also for his toe-crushing yorkers in the death overs.

Jasprit Bumrah has faced setbacks in his career due to injuries, missing significant tournaments such as the T20 World Cup 2022 and the World Test Championship Final 2023 due to a back injury. However, he made a remarkable comeback to the Indian team during the Ireland tour just before the World Cup.

Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra recently commended Jasprit Bumrah and provided him with advice on how to enhance his pace.

“I like Jasprit Bumrah, I find his action unique,” he said on the Indian Express’ Idea Exchange. I feel he should lengthen his run-up to add more pace,” he said.

Neeraj Chopra highlighted the significance of the run-up in both javelin throw and fast bowling. He mentioned that throwers frequently engage in discussions about fast bowling, emphasizing how an extended run-up can assist in generating additional pace.

“As a javelin thrower, we often discuss how bowlers can increase their pace if they start their run-up from a little further back. I like Bumrah’s style,” he added.
