“I don’t want to add extra stress….”Young Indian wicketkeeper drops a massive statement on Rishabh pant’s test return

Indian cricket player Dhruv Jurel, who catches the ball for the team, did well in the Test series against England in 2024, scoring 190 runs in four innings during three Test matches. But now, as India plays a two-match Test series against Bangladesh, it’s not clear if Jurel will be in the team. Rishabh Pant, another player, performed well in the T20 World Cup in 2024 and has been chosen for the Duleep Trophy, showing that the selectors trust him. KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan are also trying to get a spot on the Indian team, making it a tough competition for Jurel. Despite this, the young player stays calm and says he wants to focus on each day without extra pressure.

“I strongly believe in focusing on each day as it comes. I don’t want to add extra stress about future events. Today, I’m playing a game for a worthy cause, and it’s also a great opportunity for me to practice. That’s all I’m concentrating on. I’ll handle things one day at a time,” Jurel shared with Sports Tak.

In the meantime, Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), mentioned that they will decide about fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s involvement in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will be played overseas later this year, after reviewing the report from the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is making good progress in recovering from an ankle injury that has kept him away from cricket since the ODI World Cup in November.

It is expected that he will be able to play in India’s home season, starting with a Test series against Bangladesh in September. Shami is now in the last part of his recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

He started bowling again last month for the first time since his surgery and has been slowly increasing his bowling practice, with no pain reported.

Shah told ANI, “Whether Shami plays in the Australia series depends on his fitness, and a decision will be made after the NCA report.”

Before India left for their trip to Sri Lanka in July, the main person who picks the players, Ajit Agarkar, said that Shami has begun throwing a ball and suggested that the first big game against Bangladesh on September 19 in Chennai would be when he returns to playing.
