Seeking guidance on navigating the pressure in the last over, Dhoni’s advice was clear – stay calm. Rinku embraced this wisdom, showcasing composure that belied his relative inexperience at the international level.

Opting to take the game to the last over, Rinku’s composure mirrored the calmness advocated by Dhoni. “In four overs, we needed some 40-odd runs; my mindset was to do what I wanted to and take the game to the last over. I asked Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni) what he thought in the last over. He said that if you stay calm, it will be good for you, so I try to do that,” Rinku said in a video posted by BCCI.
The left-handed batter expressed his satisfaction with the situation he found himself in when he came out to bat. The match’s scenario was tailor-made for Rinku to leverage his finishing skills, a role he has been honing for some time. “It feels good that our team won the game, and when I came out to bat, it was the perfect situation for me to do what I have been doing for some time. It felt good to play with Surya bhaiya,” Rinku added.
