The Indian cricket team made it to the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2024 without losing any games in the league stage. The team, led by Rohit Sharma, won against Ireland, Pakistan, and the United States. Their last game against Canada was canceled because the field was too wet. All of India’s games so far were played in the United States, but the Super 8 stage will be in the West Indies. The team management is very interested in knowing about the pitch conditions, so captain Rohit Sharma asked fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah about his thoughts on the surface. “How is the pitch?” he asked Bumrah, who seemed happy with the practice pitches they’ve been given.
Before India’s important match against Afghanistan on June 20, the BCCI shared a video where Rohit discussed the upcoming challenges and how his team is getting ready.
Rohit said, “The team is really eager to do something amazing. It’s clear that everyone wants to make a difference, and we take our practice sessions very seriously. Each practice session has a goal. After our first game, we’ll play the next two in just 3-4 days. It will be a bit busy, but we’re used to it. We often travel and play, so we won’t use that as an excuse.” This video was shared by the BCCI.
“We plan to concentrate on our skills and our team’s goals. We’ve played many games here. Everyone knows their role. Everyone is excited and looking ahead,” the Indian cricket team captain said.
