Sarfaraz Khan made his debut in international cricket in the third test match against England and played a sublime knock of 62 before a terrible runout because of the mix-up with Ravindra Jadeja.
The incident happened during the third session of the day’s play when James Anderson was the bowler.
A shot towards midfield was played by Jadeja, and he called for a single. After the shot was played, England’s pacer Mark Wood was quick to gather the ball, seeing that Jadeja denied his call, but by then it was too late for Sarfaraz as he got out for 62 in his debut inning.
After the match got over, Jadeja took to his Instagram account and posted a story, “Feeling bad for @sarfrazkhan97, it was my wrong call, well played.”
Sarfaraz Khan notched up a 48-ball half century in his debut test and was all set to make his first outing in international cricket a memorable one; however, he was unfortunate when he got run out at the score of 62.
On being asked about his dismissal, Sarfaraz Khan termed his dismissal a clear miscommunication, saying that these things do happen in cricket.
Sarfraz Khan said that “it’s all part and parcel of the game.” Sometimes run out happens, and sometimes you get a run like this.”
Speaking on Jadeja Sarfraz said that he had requested that Jadeja keep talking to him while he bats because he likes doing so. Sarfaraz Khan also credited Jadeja, saying that he supported him a lot while he was batting.
Speaking on his debut in international cricket, Sarfaraz Khan said that it’s quite the same as domestic cricket, but there are a few obvious differences, like that in domestic cricket, the crowd is not there.
He said that he felt a little awkward as he was playing for the first time, but after spending time, he got in his zone.
