How did Marcus Stoinis cope with being snubbed from the Australian contract ?

Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis finally shared his opinion on being snubbed from his central contract after his sensational performance against the Chennai Super Kings, scoring 124* and helping his side win the match, chasing 211 by six wickets.

Earlier in March, Marcus Stoinis and his teammate Ashton Agar were snubbed from the central contract; however, Stoinis wishes Youngesters to do well for Australia.

Marcus Stoinis said, “I’ve got a great relationship with the coach (the Australian Head Coach), me not getting a contract; I knew that long ago. It’s great to let the kids come in and get an opportunity. I’m happy to let them take my spot. But on the playing front, I’d like to play and contribute.”

Marcus Stoinis hammered Mustafizur Rahman in the final over for 17 runs. He got equal support from Deepak Hooda (17*) and Nicholas Pooran (34) in helping his side seal the deal in Chepauk.

Speaking about the game, Marcus Stoinis said, “It’s not just go go go; there were some bowlers we wanted to target and some bowlers we wanted to be more cautious against. There was a phase where I wasn’t able to hit the boundaries, so it was great that Pooran could come in and take the pressure off. There were lots of ebbs and flows; I just tried to keep it under control.

Stoinis further added, “You’re planning and structuring; you’re not liking certain bowlers, and you’re liking others more.”

The Super Giants will be next seen in action against the Rajasthan Royals in Lucknow on April 27.
