Historic Day: India’s Pace Sensation Tops ICC Test Rankings, Check Out The Updated Test Ranking

Team India’s pace sensation becomes the new number one bowler in the test format of the game. Jasprit Bumrah became the number one bowler after he became the chief architect of India’s victory at Vizag, picking up nine wickets in both innings of the test match.

Bumrah recorded a magical figure of 9/96, helping India defeat England by a huge margin of 106 runs. Bumrah’s nine wicket haul also helped him to be named player of the match, and he took the top bowlers test rankings from his fellow teammate Ravichandran Ashwin.

Ashwin, who had been the number one bowler in the test match since March 2023, picked up only three wickets in the second test match, resulting in him swapping his position with Jasprit Bumrah. On the other hand, South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada remained in the number two position despite missing the ongoing series against New Zealand.

It is for the first time that Jasprit Bumrah has become the number one bowler in the white ball format. Bumrah has played 34 test matches for India, picking up 155 wickets at an impressive average of 20.19. The pacer has also picked up 10 five-wicket hauls in the format, with his best figures in an innings being 6/27 and 9/86 in the match.
