“His Overs will be…”Chawla gives a big statement on Jasprit Bumrah ahead of India’s clash against Australia

India will face Australia again in an ICC tournament on Monday, June 24. This match is the last Super 8 game in the T20 World Cup 2024, where India will play against the 2021 champions. India has not lost any games so far, thanks to their excellent bowling throughout the tournament. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been the standout player, taking 10 wickets with an incredibly low economy rate of 3.42 runs per over.

Talking about the match on Star Sports, Piyush Chawla and Paul Collingwood both agreed that Jasprit Bumrah might be the key player in the India vs Australia game because he has been playing very well in the tournament. Collingwood, who used to be the captain of England, said that Bumrah could cause problems for the Australian openers in the match on Monday.

“Jasprit Bumrah is a very important player in this World Cup. Every team would want him. He can get many wickets. Having a player like him on your team and bowling four overs can put Australia in a difficult situation. I think he will put them under a lot of pressure, but it will be a very exciting game to watch,” Paul Collingwood said on Star Sports.

Former Indian spinner Chawla talked about Bumrah’s skill in using the pitch effectively and his ability to understand the playing conditions.

“Every time Bumrah plays, he shows his best skills. We’ve seen how he can perform on any surface, like in the US where the pitches were tricky, and in the Caribbean, where he bowled really well, making good use of the pitch. He uses his cutters and fast deliveries, and he can bowl accurate, fast balls easily. But he also knows when the pitch helps the bowler, and he didn’t use those fast balls against Bangladesh. Those four overs are very important,” Chawla explained during the discussion.

Australia is playing their last Super 8 match after unexpectedly losing to Afghanistan. They need to win against India to continue in the competition.
